Office Manager sought in Bishop Auckland office

IMG_3412.JPGHelen is looking for a committed person to run her busy constituency office in Bishop Auckland.

Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Closing date: 15 October. Position to start in November.

Would suit former welfare rights, community development or trade union employee.

Essential skills and experience:

Good local knowledge of community and economy
Educated to degree level
IT literate
Previous experience of working with the public and local campaign groups
Knowledge of public sector bodies and structures
Experience of dealing with media enquiries, communications and writing copy
Committed to Labour values


Key responsibilities:

Managing the office, overseeing budgets, ensuring all office correspondence and enquiries are dealt with quickly and effectively and; dealing with complex queries on the Member’s behalf.
Liaising with the Local Authority, public bodies, voluntary sector and local businesses
Managing local media relations & drafting press notices
Managing constituency diary
Dealing with personnel and staff issues
